About the Practice

OSF Medical Group has recently opened up its new office facility in Cherry Valley.  OSF Medical Group - Cherry Valley is conveniently located inside the Cherry Valley shopping center, just minutes away from Cherryvale Mall and the intersection of Route 20 and I-39.

This new family medicine and general practice office is a modern facility with on-site laboratory and radiology services including blood draws, EKGs, X-rays, and point-of-care waive testing. Sports and general health physicals are also available.  

The Cherry Valley office is staffed with caring and compassionate professionals that strive to serve the community "with the greatest care and love."

Meet Dr. Jamal

The desire to become a doctor led Dr. Asad Jamal from his native India to medical school in Kazakhstan. Love and marriage brought him to Illinois. The Mission of the Sisters drew him here to Cherry Valley.

Dr. Jamal joined OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center full-time in January 2010 after working part-time in Urgent Care since March 2009. He is a primary care physician, fluent in English, Russian and Hindi.

"What I love about OSF Medical Group is the people. They have such a strong work ethic and professional attitudes. Being part of a health care system means I have access to the finest specialists too. And, of course, this new Cherry Valley office is a beautiful place to work.

I earned my MD in 1999, the same year I was married. My wife, Shahira, is also a physician, but home now raising our two children, a five-year-old daughter and four-year-old son.

What I love about primary care is the opportunity to develop long-term relationships with patients, educating them about their health, practicing prevention, and helping them control their lives. It is not unusual to treat an entire family, from little kids to grandparents.

Our own families are spread out across the world. My parents are still in India and my brother is in Dubai. Shahira's parents settled in the United States over 30 years ago in Bartlett, where we now live as well.

Outside of work, I read a lot, mostly medical literature. I also enjoy jogging and getting together with friends for soccer. We love traveling, especially to Europe. This summer, we're taking the children on a five-country trip on Eurail!"

Office Hours/Location

OSF Medical Group - Cherry Valley is located at 1572 S. Bell School Road inside the new Cherry Valley Crossing shopping center.

Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. except on Wednesdays. On Wednesdays, the office is open from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
