Our Joslin Diabetes Center affiliate, the first one in Illinois, offers a comprehensive team approach - and it's located close to home.

Our board certified endocrinologist, Dr. Hady Sfeir, Julie O'Brien, APN, certified diabetes educators - including nurses and dietitians, work together with your primary care physician to provide you with the tools you need to control your diabetes and live a full, healthy life.

Our distinctive program combines the resources of the world-reknown Joslin Diabetes Center with the expertise of our own dedicated diabetes center and endocrinology practice to provide patients with the most complete diabetes care in the area. 

In addition to excellent clinical care, the patients who come to the Joslin Diabetes Center Affiliate at OSF HealthCare receive the most up-to-date information on diabetes self management through a variety of classes taught by certified diabetes educators.

Our staff is solely dedicated to treating diabetes.  Each Joslin patient has a primary care physician to manage his or her general health concerns so that all time spent with the Joslin team is targed exclusively towards achieving the ultimate level of diabetes control.

What is the Joslin Diabetes Center?

The Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston, dedicated to conquering diabetes in all of its forms, is the global leader in diabetes research.  Founded by Elliot P. Joslin in 1898, Joslin is an independent nonprofit institution affiliated with Harvard Medical School dedicated to preventing and curing diabetes.  In 1987, Joslin's Affiliated Programs were started to make Joslin's programs, services and expertise available to premier hospitals, health care systems and physician practices across the United States.
